13 years ago, the captain of the George Mason Soccer Team found his way into Dr. Nagda’s office. Having sustained a severe collarbone fracture, he was told by another doctor that his season and likely career were over. After a complex reconstruction by Dr. Nagda, the athlete returned for his senior year and ended up playing with Major League Soccer’s Chicago Fire that season as well! Ultimately that athlete did some medical research with Dr. Nagda and ended up going to medical school. Now, 13 years later, Dr. Nagda is proud to call that patient his new sports medicine partner. “It is exciting and humbling to think that the kid who came into my office in a sling 13 years ago will now be treating patients right beside me!” beamed Dr. Nagda. “Rich, or I should say, Dr. Edgar, is a fantastic kid who has become a great sports medicine doctor. We are excited that he is joining us!” Dr. Edgar will be seeing patients starting in August, 2022. He joins a long line of former collegiate athletes who have joined the Anderson Clinic Sports Medicine team.
