Dr. Nagda has special interest in injuries to the shoulder, elbow, knee, and ankle. He has specialized training in arthroscopic and minimally invasive surgery of the shoulder. He has trained with world famous shoulder and elbow surgeons at the University of Pennsylvania and at the Kerlan Jobe Orthopaedic Clinic in Los Angeles. As a result, he is extremely skilled at evaluating even the most complex shoulder problems. He has extensive experience with arthroscopic rotator cuff repairs and performs the latest and most advanced repair techniques using arthroscopic-only procedures. He also possesses advanced training and experience in shoulder replacement including resurfacing procedures, total shoulder replacements, and reverse shoulder replacements. He has also been recognized nationally and internationally for his research related to shoulder replacement surgery. Dr. Nagda also has extensive experience with complex elbow problems including ligament injuries, fractures, and elbow arthritis. While in Los Angeles, He learned to perform the “Tommy John” procedure for elbow ligament reconstruction from the pioneers of the procedure, Dr. Frank Jobe and Dr. Lewis Yocum. He has extensive experience with diagnosing and treating shoulder and elbow injuries in overhead athletes including baseball pitchers, volleyball players, and swimmers. Knee problems are of special interest to Dr. Nagda as he too has had knee injuries requiring surgery. During his training he gained vast experience with knee arthroscopy, ligament reconstruction, cartilage transplantation, and knee replacement. He is certified by Genzyme to perform the ACI cartilage transplantation procedure and can also perform the latest techniques for arthroscopic ACL reconstruction. Dr. Nagda has also learned advanced techniques in knee replacement surgery during his training from several former presidents of the Knee Society. Ankle injuries are very common in all types of athletes. Dr. Nagda possesses advanced training in ankle arthroscopy, ankle ligament reconstruction, and ankle fracture care. He also has training and experience with ankle replacement surgery. Dr. Nagda spent six months during his training at the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia. During his tenure there, he gained substantial experience treating sports injuries and fractures in the child and adolescent population.
